Stand up for the children, please be their voice!
It’s been a while since there has been an update, however this unfortunately hasn’t stopped the widespread ongoing abuse, exclusion of students of all ages for a variety of reasons in the education systems throughout the States of Australia.
The above is a very bold statement, but the facts and evidence speak for themselves.
Several people have alluded to the fact that the government can’t be trusted and have questioned why we should even bother with trying to get the Royal Commission into the education system. The answer of course is the children are unable to speak for themselves and if they do there may be ramifications both for the children and their parents if they follow up with the principal.
Furthermore, parents are being put on communication restrictions and not able to enter the school grounds for what, in some cases, appears to be a subjective assessment of their behavior by the system.
As we are all aware, there is a mandatory reporting requirement for any form of child abuse. In some cases, those that should report child abuse are not/or have not done so. If a parent goes ‘above’ those persons that should have reported or dealt with the abuse, there can be legal ramifications for them.
The question I have is why would a person be silenced for mandatory reporting?
Accordingly, we must question why we are now having significant issues in our education system such as:
· Students bring knives/machete.
· Students bring gel blasters.
· A man takes an axe.
· A threat of harm.
· Guns being fired into schools.
· Discrimination against children
· Significant student mental health issues, including discussions between students about taking their own life.
· Teachers’ mental health issues – teachers do their best with what they have, but some need further support from parents due to their increased workload.
· Assaults
· Sexual assaults
· Bullying and harassment

As parents, grandparents and carers are aware it is a mandatory requirement to send children to school, which should be safe. However, when we see or hear of incidents such as the ones below, how can we be sure that it is not happening to our children?
After further investigations by police, it would appear the above is not an isolated case by the Whyalla teacher – please see below.
