On Saturday 15th March, there’s a rare opportunity to hear at first hand from senior staff from the Tewkesbury Garden Communities programme what is being planned for our local neighbourhood.
The event will be held in the Northway Community Hub, starting at 10am beginning with a presentation followed by an opportunity to raise concerns. The presenters are expected to be available until noon.
Representatives from the developers will also be present. Their current projection, assuming approval later this year of the (yet to be submitted) outline planning application, is that the first of up to 2750 new homes will start being built (north of the A46) in 2027, at least 7 years before the earliest possible completion date for the (currently unfounded) A46 bypass. Details of the proposed development are available on their website.
It has yet to be demonstrated whether the A46 will be able to support the additional commuter traffic arising from the proposed development, let alone the additional traffic from the previously consented, but yet to be built, homes at Fiddington and the Designer Outlet when it opens this Summer.
