For years, Angels Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary has provided a safe, loving forever home for rescued farm animals while serving as a place where families, volunteers, donors, sponsors, schools, and community members could connect with animals and learn about compassion, animal welfare, and responsible care.

Recently, following a zoning decision in Morgan County, Indiana, Angels Acres was denied an Agritourism Special Exception and is no longer permitted to open to the public for visits and events.

This decision has had a significant impact on the sanctuary. Public visits and fundraising events were among the primary ways Angels Acres generated the resources needed to provide feed, veterinary care, shelter improvements, fencing, and daily care for the animals who depend on the sanctuary every day.

Angels Acres is operated entirely by volunteers. There are no paid employees. The sanctuary exists because of the dedication of volunteers, donors, sponsors, and supporters who believe every animal deserves hope, peace, and love.

We recognize that zoning decisions involve many considerations and that reasonable people may have different perspectives. Our goal is not to attack anyone involved in the process. Instead, we are asking community members to support finding a positive path forward that allows Angels Acres to continue fulfilling its mission while addressing community concerns.
