Help sacked Uni of Bristol staff claim for furlough during Covid 19 crisis

The Issue

The University of Bristol have ended all temporary staff contacts instead of using the government ‘furlough scheme’ provided to prevent unemployment.

Government guidelines indicate that this scheme is applicable to the University’s temporary staff. However, the university say they are not using it because ‘the guidelines are unclear and they can legally end temporary contracts with one week notice’.

Please sign this petition asking Bristol University to reconsider this decision, and to comply with government policy urging all employers to use the scheme where ever possible
