Three years ago, my life took a traumatic turn when I was assaulted by an Uber driver. My mother, driven by her instinct to protect me, found herself in a situation that led to legal consequences she never foresaw. As a result, she was convicted and sentenced to an 18-month at-home detention, a fate that deeply affected both her personal and professional life.

Before this incident, my mother was a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse. Nursing was not just her profession but her passion, and she poured her heart and soul into caring for her patients. The countless hours she spent advocating for their well-being were a testament to her commitment and dedication.
