Help reconnect our community across King Street
The issue
King Street has become a barrier
King Street separates Village Life and Eureka Comptons retirement villages from the bus stops and the places many residents rely on every day.
Some residents no longer feel safe crossing this busy multi-lane road.
One resident told us: "My family won't let me cross the road because they're worried I'll be hit."
Others have described neighbours falling while crossing with walking frames.
A safer crossing can reconnect our community
We're asking the Queensland Government to work with the community to deliver a safe pedestrian crossing between the retirement villages and the bus stops.
A safer crossing would help people catch the bus, visit family and friends, attend appointments and remain connected to community life.
