Help Recognize and Stop the use of Child Soldiers in Afghanistan
The Issue
Having observed the struggles put upon child soldiers in Afghanistan and aspiring to be part of the military in the future, I feel compelled to shed light to the unethical recruitment and use of child soldiers by armed groups such as ISIS and the Taliban. In Afghanistan, where conflict and instability is frequent, these young children, taken of their freedom and innocence, are convinced by different armed groups into becoming instruments of war.
Child soldiers in Afghanistan are simply tragic results of their surroundings. With poverty, lack of education, and the promise of a solution when there are no other options act as incentives for vulnerable children seeking a better future, not knowing what they’re signing up for. Often times even this is a commodity, as many children are also recruited into these programs by force.
We must stand together and fight for Afghanistan's Government and the United Nations to take action and illuminate the unjust treatment of these young boys and girls being exploited in Afghanistan. It is our responsibility to do what we can to help those who need it, and give a voice to those who aren’t seen. Every share of this post counts, and with enough determination we can be the ones to make change, one vote at a time.
