This is a movement to require by federal law that a limit of two terms, each individual term not exceeding a length of 6 years, to be placed on any and all federally elected political offices and positions, judges etc..

This petition and the idea of Term Limits are not for a specific party, or belief, but one for WE The People as a whole. This is to hold those in power accountable for their actions, not to their private funders and personal financial accounts.

Term limits gives a finality to an elected official's pursuit of authority by keeping the vicious cycle of, "Good Politician makes lots of promises that will make tomorrow so bright and beautiful that it'll scare you... only to come back next election year time after time with the same excuses and reasons as to why they need another term to get it done". Thirty or forty years later - and because they can outspend anyone on the planet in campaigning - nothing WE want is done and they remain in office. This is to put a permanent stop to that.

This is to make sure that anyone that goes into politics tomorrow is in it for the people they serve, not just to get rich and serve themselves. Term Limits is to give the power back to The People and to stop the American Dream from becoming Orwell's nightmare.
