This is unfair to the people in every state or country that got raped or sexual assaulted. people have not been in jail even though they raped.
Statistical data is difficult to come by, given that the majority of sexual crimes go unreported. However, sexual assaults and rapes committed by women, although less in number, should by no means be treated differently. The heinous nature of these crimes calls for equal treatment in the eyes of the law (Source: Rainn.Org).

People should believe people cause 12% of the time, people do not believe them and that is by parents or guardians. So, people don't get there justice which can lead to trauma,death,or suicide. Or they do it to other people. It is time to correct this systemic bias. The severity of a crime should determine the sentence and bail, not the gender of the offender. Women witnesses and victims already find it difficult enough to come forward in our society. It is crucial not to compound their distress by promoting more bail time for rapist than usual.

Having witnessed the trauma caused by these horrific crimes and the subsequent unjust and unequal treatment given by our legal system - this issue hits close to home. The emotional weight I carry in sharing this is echoed by countless others who, like me, are seeking justice.
