I am a local resident living by the beautiful Androscoggin River. It is deeply personal and important to me that this river remains healthy. Right now paper mills are contaminating our river and releasing pollutants, specifically Dioxin (A toxic chemical) during the papers bleaching process.

The purpose of bleaching the paper is to remove excess chemicals, but mainly to make the paper brighter. Instead of using bleach, paper mills could use Hydrogen Peroxide which is way more environmentally healthy.

What I want is for enough people to sign this petition so we can take charge and encourage these paper mills to do the right thing and help our River.

If we get enough signatures we can convince other company's that can help us with our cause. And to educate others about this problem with our River.
