Today in Manchester UK two brave dog meat trade survivors Mocha and Mouse joined activists who spoke out for the tortured souls who suffer each day in China and beyond. Many who came along did not even really know about the dog meat trade but they had heard about the terrible suffering of the little street dog Wang Wang and the heinous case of the cat put into a blender in Southern China.
They came together to say it’s time for laws to be put in place to end this cruelty. This winter our team will also be back in Yulin for it is not just at summer solstice dogs and cats are eaten but all year round.
On the left you see Mocha. She is fully blind having been brutalised before being thrown in the dog meat market and on the left little Mouse our oldie who we rescued from a truck. Both these dogs now have the love and care of two amazing owners. Meeting real survivors was emotional for the brave activists and we are all grateful people around the globe are mobilising to give animals a voice.
So this update is to thank everyone who signs petitions, buys shirts and attends events.
We are also appealing for financial help. We have over 700 dogs and cats in our care and are struggling to pay this months food bil and the huge veterinary costsl. Any donation however small will help us as will sponsoring or adopting a dog.
We will continue to campaign and rescue and won’t give up until the cruelty ends.
