This week's propaganda flyer ( attached here) distributed to hundreds of local residents was issued by Lura Consulting on what appears to City of Toronto letterhead but suspiciously lacking the City's usual logos.

It is a deliberate attempt to intimidate residents into believing that the City's only obstacle to proceeding is "preparing the site". When clearly the City officials have many legal and procedural obstacles which they are not admitting publicly, all in a wild attempt to mislead the directly affected residents and try to extort the Province to act contrary to the legitimate interests of the seniors residents and the broader community to preserve the trees and save the green parklands which form an indispensable amenity of the long term care facility that is home to hundreds of vulnerable seniors.

The City is going  "all in" in its bid to defeat hundreds of vulnerable seniors care home residents and thousands of their families and community members who have voiced fierce opposition to the City's wildly mismanaged secretly planned attempt to steal their cherished green parklands and irreplaceable trees. All despite a 1998 OMB decision protecting those rights.

Unbelievably, Mayor John Tory has not only looked the other way but championed the City's dictatorial approach, refusing to disclose the 50 other "inferior" sites they claim were examined in secret with zero public consultation. Since the plans were revealed in March, "consultations" have consisted of staged propaganda online sessions run by David Dilks owned LURA Consulting, under a $250,000+ sole sourced contract to suppress community outrage.

Fortunately, Willowdale MPP Stan Cho called upon Municipal Affairs Minister Steve Clark to warn the City that the Ontario Government would not simply wash away citizens' legal rights to transparency and appeal given the overwhelming number of directly affected residents expressing legitimate legal concerns.
