DNA testing

DNA testing
The Issue
5years ago I found out I was pregnant and was in a brand new relationship, not knowing who the father was. My boyfriend at the time (Stephen Troiano) agreed to stay with me throughout the pregnancy and to help raise my baby, as his own, even went as far as to sign the birth certificate and give my son his last name. About 2 years later we broke up but he was still an active part in my sons life. Last year though, he had started to not be as active and even stopped seeing or asking about him for months. It was hard to financially take care of 2 kids on me own (I had a daughter by someone else after we broke up). So I filed for both fathers to start paying child support, stephen didn’t want to pay child support and so he contacted the court to get himself removed from the birth certificate. On our court date, I was very emotional and agreed to whatever I had to, in order to get out of there. Stephen has never once been tested to see if he was the biological father or not. Just recently I purchased a dna test through ancestry.com, to try and see who his dna was in connection to, so I could narrow down who to test. My son’s dna was in connection to multiple people with the last name of Troiano, same as Stephen. He was also in connection with a lady who is related to people with the last name of Trubee, which is Stephen’s mothers maiden name. I believe that Stephen is the father and I want to get a dna test done for him, but the child support office said they won’t test him because of the previous court date we had. I tried to file for legal aid but they are going if my entire house holds income, instead of just my own. Legal aid says the house hold makes to much for them to help me.
