Petition updateHelp Mt Tabor Park by keeping access road Emergency Use Only.DEVELOPER’S DREAM ACCESS ROAD ABOUT TO BECOME REALITY

Be prepared for the trees to start falling at our beautiful Mt Tabor Park.

That sweetest of deals for the Riverwood developer is about turn into ugly reality.

Spoke to a Paulding Development Division employee at the park today- plans for the access road are in final plan review and there will be a meeting there today.  Bulldozers should be on our public park within the next few weeks.

I didn’t bother asking if a portion of the park and trail would be closed because I was too pissed off.  But get ready.

Also be on the lookout.  If you recall from previous updates, the initial survey for the access road was over 100’ wide and came from an ‘old’ set of plans that were not current.  That was all a mistake we were told.  According to ‘updated’ county plans, the access road easement is to be no more than 50’ wide.  I hope so.

And lastly, remember this.  There are absolutely zero decent explanations as to how or why this happened.  Stay involved.  Always look to see what’s on the Board Of Commissioners upcoming agenda, as well as Plan Review meetings in the Development Division.

Contrary to assurances by the county that this won’t happen again, I wouldn’t trust anyone further than I could throw them, to act responsibly to the citizens of Paulding County when faced with the right amount of influence from a developer in the back room.

And don’t forget to vote.
