Help Lower Arizona Hay Costs

We are calling for an actual investigative report into the price gouging on hay for local consumers. The State of Arizona and the Federal Government should be looking into this as any unethical practice that goes on in the country.  While it is great that the U.S. produces and manufactures goods and commodities, it should not be at the expense of American Consumers and their livestock which are already spread too thin.

People don't realize how important the horse industry is in the Southwest. It's as important as Cotton and part of the culture in Arizona. The cost of forage has more than doubled in a year. Horses are being abandoned in the desert, rescues are full to capacity, and people can not even give horses away to good homes.

Horse shows and events that bring in tourism and help the economy are feeling the impact of the high cost of hay. Arizona’s horse industry exceeds a billion dollars annually in direct, indirect, and induced expenditures–between $1.1 to $1.3 Billion.

There is plenty of Hay in Arizona but the climbing cost of Hay is making it more difficult for horse owners to maintain their horses. A weak U.S. dollar has been a key factor in making U.S. hay products attractive to customers in other countries, There should be prices for locals and pricing for Export – Charity should always begin at home!!!....

Please help save Horses and the Equine Industry in Arizona.

To: Hay Growers, some of you need to step up and start doing the right thing!
