Petition to Support the MIKHUNA Outdoor Patio
MIKHUNA is a locally owned, one-of-a-kind restaurant in the heart of McAllen. For more than five years, our outdoor patio has been more than just a dining area — it has been a place of connection, comfort, and community.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when indoor spaces were limited and many people felt isolated, MIKHUNA’s patio became one of the few places where people could safely gather, share a meal, and feel a sense of normalcy again. That space helped our community stay connected during an incredibly difficult time.

Over the years, the patio has continued to serve as:

A pet-friendly space where guests can dine with their fur babies
A place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and milestones
A welcoming gathering space for locals, students, millennials, and Gen Z
A peaceful and positive presence within the neighborhood
For more than five years, the patio has operated responsibly and without ongoing issues. Today, a single objection threatens to revoke the variance that allows this space to exist.

This petition is not about conflict — it is about giving the community a voice.
