The Issue

We are asking for public support to help keep Spudwagon trading on the Shambles during the Wednesday market.

We have recently been told we can no longer trade from our usual spot due to concerns about the noise from our generator. We completely understand that everyone has different views, but the generator is only used for around 5 hours each week during the Wednesday market. We hope people will agree that supporting a small independent local business for a few hours a week is a reasonable compromise that helps keep the town centre lively and thriving.

Spudwagon is a small independent local business simply trying to make an honest living while bringing more footfall and atmosphere to the town centre. We have built up a loyal customer base and have always tried our best to work respectfully alongside nearby shops and businesses.

We fully understand that concerns should always be listened to, and we are committed to operating responsibly and respectfully within the community. However, we believe small local businesses should also be supported rather than pushed out.

This petition is not about attacking or blaming anyone. It is about showing support for independent traders and asking for a fair, reasonable solution that allows local businesses like ours to continue operating within the community.

If you would like to see Spudwagon remain part of the Wednesday market, please sign and show your support.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far — it genuinely means a lot.
