Help Keep Nicole Sinkule's Murderer in Prison/ Deny Marum Parole
The Issue
On the night of October 16, 2005, my family’s world was shattered when my daughter, Nicole Crystal Sinkule, became a victim of a heinous crime. She was only 25 years old, caught defenseless in her bed a sleep with a broken leg, when Eric Nathaniel Marum (Nate) #F61434 brutally ended her life using the claw of a hammer. He struck my daughter Nicole Crystal Sinkule over 13 times before leaving the murder weapon in her head and washing his hands in the ocean. This was not just a random occurrence; it was the result of a deeply troubling history of a deeply troubled man.
Eric Marum had a longstanding pattern of behavior that documented his violent tendencies, long before the tragic night he took Nicole from us. From a young age, he displayed issues that grew into a history of woman problems, domestic violence, substance abuse, and a propensity towards criminal activities. The night he took my daughter Nicoles life he was also lurking outside the bedroom window of my older daughter and another woman, filling our hearts with unrelenting fear that remains today.
Eric was found guilty of murder, receiving 16 yrs. to life sentence and blames everything on God, his mother, and drugs. Each time Eric has come up for parole, five times in total, it has thrust our family back into the relentless nightmare of nearly two decades. The very thought of him being released into the community raises a real and persistent dread that he might someday have the chance to harm others. His repeat known patterns and antisocial behavior, coupled with no remorse, and the brutality against my daughter, clearly illustrate that he remains a threat to society and he still has no insight, that's what makes him so dangerous.
The justice system exists to protect our communities from individuals who pose serious threats. Allowing Eric Marum a chance at freedom would place the safety of others in jeopardy. His parole denial has been a testament to the acknowledgment of his danger, but we cannot grow complacent.
Please join us We strongly implore the Parole Board to oppose the parole of Eric Nathaniel Marum #F61434 and believe he should serve his full term and recognizing the threat he represents by denying his parole once again. Protect our communities, bring justice to those he harmed, and uphold the memory and legacy of my daughter, Nicole. Together we fight for justice to help make our communities safer.
