Help keep Jamie and his family in Australia
The issue
14-year-old Jamie lives with his parents Piers and Victoria Moller in Melbourne.
The Moller family have lived in Australia for 11 years, but they've been refused permanent residency twice already because Jamie is on the autism spectrum. There is a very real risk they may need to leave the country at short notice. We want them to be granted permanent residency.
Jamie is a bubbly, gregarious boy, who has made huge progress here and loves the Australian way of life. He's very chatty and loves his school, gymnastics, swimming and drama class. Victoria has worked with us at the Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre for 5 years now - initially as a volunteer. She is now our Copywriter (Community Work, Outreach and Marketing). Her husband Piers works in cyber security and gets involved with our annual Music Festival.
We're asking for your support to request Tony Burke, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, to review their case. Their residency application case is now in its 8th year. The Moller family loves living and working here, and Jamie knows nothing else - moving him back to the UK, which he left when he was three, would be severely traumatic for him.
Please consider signing this petition - there is no need to donate money, we didn't realise people would start donating. Thank you so much!
