Help keep d9-THC drinks accessible in Georgia

Help keep d9-THC drinks accessible in Georgia

The Issue

Please note: you must send an email (see below) to support this petition!

Small businesses in Georgia will struggle to incorporate d9-THC drinks into their offerings due to proposed regulations. Despite the fact that hemp-derived products like d9-THC are legal at a federal level, proposed state-level regulation may stifle our local businesses and economy.

Statistics show that in 2019, hemp contributed to over $4 billion in domestic economic impact (The U.S. Industrial Hemp Market Report 2020). Some small changes to the proposed regulations for businesses to include d9-THC drinks not only aligns with federal law, but can also have a positive impact on our economy.

Comments are open until 11:59pm on September 6th.

Let's ensure our Georgia government recognizes the potential of a consumable hemp program to benefit our local businesses. Send a public comment by copy and pasting the content below and emailing it to:

"I am submitting a public comment on the proposed Dept. of Agriculture regulations for hemp beverages in Georgia.

I am a consumer of hemp beverages and would like to see more options available for products. For that reason, I suggest bringing the dosing cap for beverages up to 10mg d9-THC per container. This is the format that works best for most people I know and would give our local retailers more options. I think a beverage should be able to be at least as strong as the gummies, as I can consume gummies much faster than I can consume a beverage.

I appreciate your considering the voice of Georgians on this matter and I'm glad to see the government making common sense regulations for these products."
