As a former inmate at Waurika jail in Jefferson county, I know how harsh the living conditions really are.  It takes a physical and mental toll on someone.  Even more so, for the inmates that have preexisting mental conditions.  As a former inmate at this facility, I know first hand about insufficient toiletries, poor food quality, neglect of inmates and the high cost of communications via inmate and their loved ones.  Not to mention that in this jail, yard time is non existent. The money that should be used to make this jail appropriately suited for living in has obviously been used elsewhere. Please join me in the signing of this petition and help those who are incarcerated at this facility receive suitable living accomodations.
