Help Humanity Abandon Vanity-Driven Metrics and Embrace Meaningful Measures

The Issue

Our family is not an ordinary one. We have six adopted children and one biological child, each with their unique challenges to overcome. In a world driven by vanity and superficial metrics, our remarkable souls often struggle to be truly seen, loved, heard, and valued.

One of our daughters was severely exposed to drugs and alcohol in utero. She spent the first two weeks of her life in detox, and within four months part of her small intestines died. Yet despite these hardships she remains kind-hearted - a beacon of hope amidst adversity.

Her act of kindness during a tantrum one day inspired us to seek change. It made us realize that the world's current vanity measures are meaningless; they don't reflect the true value or potential within each individual.

According to a study by Dove Self-Esteem Project (2017) https://www.dove.com/us/en/dove-self-esteem-project.html 7 in 10 girls believe they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members. This is evidence that our society’s obsession with vanity metrics has detrimental effects on self-esteem especially among young people.  1 and 4 people already suffer from mental health challenges

With social media creators reaching nearly half of humanity, many metrics are misleading and superficial. They hide the true value and impact of online content and tempt people to cheat or overestimate their success.

Social media vanity metrics are eating away at humanities mental health. There’s a better way to measure social media metrics, one that is based on love, not likes. One that focuses on the quality of our interactions, not the quantity of our impressions. One that boosts our mental health, not
drains it. When we cherish the moments we share, we boost our mental well-being. We release happy infectious hormones that spread to our social tribes.

We need your help to shift this paradigm from vanity-driven measures towards more meaningful ones – those that recognize resilience, kindness, empathy - qualities that make us human rather than just another faceless number on social media platforms or academic scoreboards.

Social media engagement PODS have gotten out of hand.  in 2023 there was a rise of new sophisticated tools that allowed AI to auto connect, auto react, and auto comment on all social platforms.

Join us as we petition for change – for a world where everyone can be fully seen, loved, valued, and heard for who they truly are beyond mere numbers or appearances. Sign this petition today and help put the HUMAN back into HUMANity!
