After a tragic few months, Karachi Zoo's resident female Elephants have been through a lot.

Noor Jehan, one of the Elephants, had unfortunately succumbed to her illness not longer than one month ago on 21st April 2023 and left behind her only companion Madhubala. Her passing was a devastating event that turned all eyes towards the negligence and lack of proper medical attention involved in this situation as it was apparent that Noor Jehan had been suffering long before her treatment began. 

While many different groups of concerned citizens are finding ways to best to deal with these issues moving forward, time seems to be on the crunch again as it has recently been revealed that Madhubala is now inflicted by the same blood parasite that cut Noor Jehan's life short. 

We are now looking to the world for help in any way that it can be offered. We are in need of specialists, trained wildlife veterinarians and people to spread the word and fight for Madhubala's survival. 

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation should be compelled to give full access to any international organisations such as Four Paws to treat Madhubala.
