Justice for Arianna Gamber and Lizzy Zito

Justice for Arianna Gamber and Lizzy Zito
The Issue
On Sunday April 28th, 2024 in the early morning hours, in Charleston SC, near the Ravenel Bridge, 2 gorgeous 20 year old girls Arianna Gamber, and Lizzy Zito, were walking home Sober and were struck by 2 separate intoxicated drivers, and left for dead by both. They didn’t stop, didn’t render aid and didn’t call for help for the victims. They went home and continued normal activities in their lives the next morning. The girls were found on the morning of 4/28/24 by a passerby almost 7 hours after being struck down. Both drivers are out on bond Since Apri/Mayl 2024, sitting at home on house arrest after Seth Carlson, 32 (1st driver) spent roughly 18 days in jail, out on a 600k bond, and Max Gentlin,25 (2nd driver) has never even spent 24 hours in jail, out on a 300k bond. Although both had open alcohol containers in their cars and were seen at local Charleston bars drinking heavily on the night of 4/27 after a day of binge drinking, neither drivers were charged with a DUI because they fled the scene of the accident! Neither were charged or arrested until days later, after any alcohol in their system would not be found or admissible in court. One judge stated they were unable to deny bond, saying ,”SC law only allows me to deny bond in cases that are deemed violent, and amazingly, this is not one.” Due to the case not being deemed a violent crime (even though SC law statutes classify Hit and Run resulting in Death IS a Violent Offense, both offenders are walking free, getting to live with, and see their families, celebrating holidays together and hosting gatherings in their homes, which is something they took away from our beautiful loved ones that night. This petition is fighting to ensure cases of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death as violent, catastrophic and No Bond should be given to the driver(s) under any circumstances, regardless of previous record or status in the community. With this petition becoming that bill becoming law in order, offenders who leave the scene of an accident resulting in death would no longer be able to walk free on bond after spending minimal time in jail, or go without justice truly deserved to them, or for their victims. Please help us get justice for our beautiful friends, family, sisters, daughters, as they were much more. They were such amazing people who deserve justice.
