Sorry, recorded that video yesterday but have only just been able to post it.
Right, so Ofgem are looking to add another cost to the price cap, increasing our bills further. This time its because energy suppliers are PREDICTING a huge increase in bad debt. A huge part of this bad debt increase (around £25m per month in extra bad debt) they say is caused by the temporary ban on force-fitting prepayment meters. Ofgem's consultation considers giving energy suppliers money to cover this cost, which is ridiculous. So please, take action, reply to Ofgem's consultation and tell them you don't think this is fair, because it's not!
The first link at the top of this update tells you where to send the email and gives you the text of my letter to them if you want to copy that. You can also just email them your own thoughts, but please do get involved on this one, we need Ofgem to know that it's not okay to pass on the cost of illegal energy supplier activities to consumers, the supplier should suffer those costs.
The video explains the whole consultation a little more in depth, so feel free to give that a watch. Also, Ofgem have a few other consultations and calls for input that we should be aware of, they will affect the price cap over the next year so we will need to engaged with those. I'll post updates on them when I get round to doing them.
