According to an article posted on UNICEF on February 20 of this year, Gaza is on the brink of a nutrition crisis following the attack on Israel on October 7. Nutrition screenings conducted by UNICEF in northern Gaza in January found that over 15 percent of children under age 2 are acutely malnourished, with 3 percent suffering from severe wasting, the most life-threatening form of malnutrition. Since then, the numbers have continued to rise, with many children dying from lack of nourishment.
