Ellie, a 24-year-old transgender woman from Morocco, is currently living in Thailand while saving money to travel to Brazil, where she can apply for asylum. Ellie has endured incredibly difficult circumstances over the past year. She fled Morocco fearing for her life, stayed in Turkey with the help of some local LGBTQ+ people, suffered repeated attacks, and was unjustly denied boarding Turkish Airlines flights to Brazil. Now she is in Thailand, hoping to travel to another country where she can apply for asylum. She is completely exhausted, tired, and still feels unstable. The UNHCR registration process is slow, and she relies on donations to find shelter and buy food because she is prohibited from working. Many people rallied to help Ellie escape Turkey through a previous successful campaign. Now, we hope you will donate to help Ellie persevere and fight for her rights to safety and shelter.
