Twin Lakes Owl Open Space
Jan 31, 2016
A devastating blow on Thurs for the Owls. Despite incredible community opposition, because of tremendous pressure from developers, Boulder County Commissioners voted to forward the proposal to bulldoze the 20 acre Owl Hunting Meadow.
Now the battle for the survival of the Owls moves to Tues night at Feb 2 at City Council at 5pm. Developers have been hard at work lobbying council members to say yes to the bulldozers. Only one thing is powerful enough to save our Owl Friends and their 20 acre hunting meadow - that is your voice.
The Owl Preserve will be fielding a team of community speakers encouraging council to say No to development and YES to protecting the most important Owl nesting and viewing site in all of Colorado.
Can you come and speak with our team for two minutes in the public comment section? Simply attending will also demonstrate overwhelming public support for the Owls.
This may be our last chance to create the Boulder Great Horned Owl Preserve. The time to act is now.
If you can attend please RSVP at the Owl Preserve Meetup site:
http://www.meetup.com/BoulderOwlPreserve/events/228217978/
Please attend if at all possible.
One other important thing you could do is take two minutes tonight and write council and the planning board to kill the development proposal and say Yes the the Great Horned Owl Preserve
