We are frustrated with internet service providers (Quantum Fiber & Xfinity) disinterest to expand their fiber/lines to our area. The only internet available in most neighborhoods is 10 MBPS and slower on CenturyLink which is abysmal and too slow to even work a remote job. Remote learning options are left on the table for students due to the current lack of infrastructure. 

For the past year, I have tried to get something kickstarted for our area but nothing I try is enough to encourage these companies to bring their highspeed internet service our way. I am surrounded by residential homes with access to Quantum Fiber and Xfinity within a mile distance and it is also the case for thousands of others here. Several federal grants are available for this purpose and there is no interest in utilizing funds to tackle the problem our community is facing. It does not seem like our community matters enough for these companies to bring their services to our area.

Constructing access to highspeed Internet will allow our community to work from home, attend educational institutions remotely, and reliably access it.
