Dear beautiful people,

Thanks to your signatures and support, we are making real progress.

The Brazilian government is ready to issue humanitarian visas. But we now face the next urgent step—funding the evacuation and resettlement of 60 Afghan women and their families. That’s 360 lives at stake.

✈️ We’ve launched a dedicated fundraiser from FFTA (Food for Thought Afghanistan) to cover flights, emergency housing, food, and medical support:

🚨 Please be aware: We’ve been informed that some individuals are falsely claiming to collect money on behalf of Panahgah, the certified organization arranging the humanitarian visas and resettlement of our group in Brazil. These fundraisers are NOT legitimate. To ensure your support reaches the people who need it most, please only donate through our official fundraiser.

🤝 Change.org has kindly offered a solution for those who contributed to promote the petition:
If you supported the petition financially and would prefer to donate directly to the evacuation fund from FFTA (please use the link above), you can request a refund within 3 months by contacting Change.org’s support team from the email address you used when signing.

💜 Your impact so far is already saving lives:
With the help of pro bono UNHCR lawyers, we have secured the release of multiple people who were arrested by the police in Pakistan, ready to be deported. A big shout out to those angels Mr. Khan and Mrs. Kakar.
🏠 Standalone women with their children have been given shelter by kind strangers after being evicted from their homes in Pakistan (thank you Malik).

🌍 A special shout out to our incredible Russian-speaking supporters:
Your solidarity has been nothing short of extraordinary. You have helped find emergency shelter, connected journalists for interviews (on both accounts thank you Erica), and initiated legal pathways through the ECHR and UNHCR to stop deportations (thank you Tatyana). Your voices, your actions, and your compassion are saving lives. Thank you for standing shoulder to shoulder with Afghan women and their families. You are a powerful reminder that humanity transcends borders.

All of this proves that the kind human spirit is very much alive, despite what mainstream media reports these days.

📣 We are still waiting for a formal response from the Pakistani government to grant this vulnerable group of people more time.

Until then, please continue to sign, share, and now—donate if you can. Every contribution helps secure safety, dignity, and a future.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.
Let’s keep going. Together.

Much love,
Nadja & the HeartWork + Food for Thought Afghanistan Team
