The CQC has employees who spend most of their time fraternizing on Twitter. This means they don't get any work done. Between gossiping and getting on the Honours lists, I often wonder what constructive action they have taken in England. The Public Accounts Committee wrote their report recently. Everyone can read the report here http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/public-accounts-committee/news-parliament-2015/care-quality-commission-report-published-15-16/ . Lets remember that Professor Steve Field and Sir Robert Francis QC are on the board of this organisation. Field is busy insulting his own profession while Francis is busy being the government's safe pair of hands. Of course, the Queen of all whistleblowers, Kim Holt has been working with the CQC. One would have thought given all the crowings in the newspapers, her employers would have had a better write up. Anyway.... Now, we see the product of their workmanship. This is what the Chair said Meg Hillier MP, Chair of the PAC, said: "Six years after being set up the Care Quality Commission is still not fully effective. There’s too often a long gap between inspections and reports being published - and sometimes an alarming lack of attention to detail when reports are being prepared. One NHS Foundation Trust told us staff had identified more than 200 errors in a draft Commission report, including data inaccuracies. The fact these errors were picked up offers some reassurance but this is clearly unacceptable from a public body in which taxpayers are placing their trust. Recruitment at the Commission is going too slowly, meaning too many members of the public don’t have up-to-date independent information about the quality of services provided. It is vital the public is clear on what the Commission has actually inspected, and when. If the Commission is to properly fulfill its duty to taxpayers we must see improvements in the way it collects, acts upon and publishes information. At the same time it should set out a coherent plan for managing its new responsibilities. When the Commission falls short, there must be robust measures in place to enable Parliament and the public to hold it to account." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- There we have it, we end the year with a damning report on the performance of those who have spent their time starring in the media. To make matters worse, the British Ethnic Minority GPs started to raise concerns about bias. Sure they are biased. Its got something to do with all the patients groups they invite in and all the judgments they make on others. For those who are interested, the CQC were forced to study their own bullying culture. https://www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/documents/bullying_and_harassment_in_cqc.pdf . The culture hasn't changed. Declaration of Conflict of Interest :- I was harassed by a number of CQC officials because I refused to jump up and down in joy when I was invited to their silly little meetings. They know who they are and I still have their tweets. As they are aware, I have interesting things to do like watch paint dry rather than hang out with those who have no idea of proper patient safety.
