I spoke with a lady in the office of the Veterans Affairs Committee today. She said that HR 6023 has been moved to a sub-committee, but the specific one is uncertain, and the system hasn't been updated yet. Unfortunately, this development doesn't bode well in my opinion. Additionally, I discussed HR 6023 with retired Airman Naomi Mathis, the Associate National Legislative Director for the DAV. The DAV's position is one of neutrality, she expressed concerns about the potential unfairness of granting back pay exclusively to MST survivors. Please keep fighting for 6023 because it is right and because it can finally help right the wrongs you have endured. In the coming days I will be looking into other lobbying efforts we can branch out into.
