Habonim Dror Australia is currently facing great challenges to its autonomy as a youth movement.

For many years, different world organisations, Zionist and Jewish institutions and movements, PnF bodies and other external influences have tried to control the decisions of the movement, and reduce its authority to make decisions in its own interest. 

We are seeking support from chaverim of Habonim Dror Australia to give strength to this statement below:

Habonim Dror Australia is an autonomous youth movement, meaning it holds the right to self-government; to make decisions about how it functions and utilizes resources both human and financial, as well as the principles and frameworks it chooses to realise its beliefs and values. These decisions are led by a democratically elected federal mazkirut, in partnership with elected state mazkiruyot and the collective of bogrimot across Australia.  

By obtaining written support for the continued autonomy of Habonim Dror Australia as a truly youth-led movement, we hope that the bogrimot of HDOZ will be able to shape the movements future together in the way they see fit.
