Everyone knows the great success that Historical TV Series had in the past years. Names like “Borgia”, “Tudor” or “Rome” are some of these. Also the Fantasy-TV-Series “Game of Thrones”, with its battles and political intrigues (and Dragons and Whitewalkers of course) is indicative of the great popularity of this kind of shows.

Other people and I, who study and love history, believe that there is a period of human history little treated but that would deserve to become a successful TV series: The Wars of Diadochi!

We are talking about the wars between the Alexander the Great’s generals, known as the Diadochi (or Successors), who fight against each other after his dead, for the control over the huge empire created by the Macedonian King.

These wars lasted about 50 years and have seen the greatest generals and politicians of their time oppose, marked the end of Alexander's lifelong-dream of a great Macedonian / Persian empire and the beginning of the so-called Hellenistic Age.

The number of characters involved, settings and events would guarantee the variety needed for a show structured over several seasons. Furthermore, intrigues, betrayals and dramas are commonplace. Finally, great battles, both at land and sea, are assured.

Nevertheless, the complexity of this historical period requires a great study and research, and recourse to historians and experts is a must, in order to ensure a faithful and accurate reconstruction of both the events and the various characters.
The historical reliability and the correct staging of events is fundamental for this type of product.

I hope this idea is taken into consideration by some of the big production companies, and a well-made and enjoyable product comes out.
