Have murder charges filed for Zachary Miller's shooting

Have murder charges filed for Zachary Miller's shooting
The Issue
On a somber day in Wichita, KS, my boyfriend Zachary Miller was brutally taken from us. He was unjustly shot 3 times by an unknown individual, at the time, Mathew Pedersen. I was not just a grieving partner; I was there, a witness to his senseless homicide, an act that ripped a hole in the hearts of everyone who loved him. I am compelled to seek justice, not just for myself, but for Zachary and his grieving family.
Zachary was a kind-hearted individual who didn't deserve to lose his life so tragically. Despite overwhelming evidence of foul play, justice has not been served. Local authorities have yet to press murder charges against the individuals responsible for his death. Meanwhile, district attorney Marc Bennett, who oversees the case, remains in his position despite evidence suggesting negligence and inefficiency in pursuing justice.
We demand that the Wichita authorities take immediate action to file murder charges for the shooting and consequent death of Zachary Miller. Furthermore, we urge for the removal of Marc Bennett as district attorney to ensure that a competent and unbiased legal authority can oversee the case and bring those responsible to justice.
According to a 2022 report by the Wichita Eagle, the city has seen an alarming 15% increase in unsolved homicides over the past year, reflecting a dire need for accountability and reform within our justice system. The lack of action not only contributes to this statistic but also tells families like mine that our voices and our loved ones don't matter.
We cannot allow Zachary's killer to roam free for fear and safety of the community. Zachary is not just a statistic he was a father of two, a bother, son, grandson, cousin, nephew, friend, teammate and my loving protective boyfriend.
Please join me in calling for immediate action. Sign this petition to demand justice for Zachary Miller and the removal of Marc Bennett as district attorney. Together, we can make our community a safer and more just place for everyone.
