Have Luz and Amity Meet at Disneyland’s Pride Nite

Have Luz and Amity Meet at Disneyland’s Pride Nite
The Issue
“Well…, in 2023, Disneyland in Anaheim, California introduced a brand new after hours event dedicated to the LGBTQ community, titled “Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite”, to mixed to positive reception as some weren’t too keen on it, while others especially those in the community LOVED IT, it had a special Welcome fireworks show featuring such beloved songs as “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman and “Show Yourself” from Frozen II, special food and drinks, themed merchandise, Mickey and his pals in special outfits made for this event, and best of all, meet and greets with such characters as The Muses from Hercules in 2023, the Oaken from Frozen, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, Phastos from the 2021 forgotten MCU film, Eternals, America Chavez from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and in last year’s event Ethan Clade from the 2022 box office disaster, Strange World.
Now with these characters appearing, for the previous two years of this event’s existence, there are two iconic LGBTQ characters who were missing and most Disney fans don’t even acknowledge their existence or the show that they’re from, and of course…, they are Luz Noceda and Amity Blight, from the smash hit animated future cult classic series, The Owl House, which aired on Disney Channel from 2020 to 2023, to nothing but rave reviews from viewers and critics, not without its own controversy and how it was badly handled by the network.
With that said, the episode that got people hooked to this show, and saw the first signs of what would become the remainder of the series’ legacy, the Enchanted Grom Fright which aired on August 8th, 2020, where Luz and Amity officially became an instant classic couple, and they would be a no brainer to be at Pride Nite right…?
well…, I think the entertainment department excluded them for the silliest of reasons, Disney doesn’t want to incorporate their TV Animation characters into the theme parks, that isn’t DJR related, based on an existing IP, the Disney Afternoon, Phineas & Ferb, Elena of Avalor, and Kim Possible, because they rather put their money into projects for Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Frozen, and soon The Simpsons rather than having something based on Gravity Falls or Owl House, which they would rather have Ethan from Strange World (a film that literally nobody saw in theaters and lost nearly $200 million dollars for Disney) at this event rather than a very popular LGBT couple in Luz and Amity, and I have proof, Ethan was the least popular character out of all the meetable characters at the 2024 Pride Nite event, according to some people who attended the event, which Strange World didn’t really connect with a ton of people while The Owl House did just that in three seasons worth of 43 episodes.
But…, that should change for the 2025 event, as I think it’s time for Disney to consider bringing these lovebirds to Disneyland for this special two night event on June 16th and 18th, and would have more people get into The Owl House.
Not only would Lumity show up, but I would like to throw in Eda Clawthorne and Raine Whispers (the latter being Disney’s first ever nonbinary character ever), Vee (the basilisk turned human, she would be in her human form as seen in “Thanks to Them”), King (a titan, who are these wolf like creatures in the Boiling Isles), Willow, Gus, and Hunter as well, as they’ve all become such unforgettable characters from a highly unforgettable series.
On top of that, why not they should also invite Luca and Alberto from Pixar’s highly underrated 2021 film, well…, Luca, I know they make appearances at Pixar Pier just across the Esplanade at California Adventure, Andrea Davenport from another underappreciated animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee, who should hang out with Molly herself during the event, Cassandra from the highly overlooked and very underappreciated Tangled series, who would totally hang out with Rapunzel during the event, and of course…, who would likely be the most popular addition to this year’s Pride Nite and would even overshadow the Owl House characters, that’s right…, Deadpool, in can hopefully be his first fully meetable appearance at Disneyland, as his DL debut last summer was just a hilarious Storytime show that he and Wolverine reenacted Disney stories with a twist filled with irreverent and pop culture references, which also had a Holiday overlay, no meet and greets occurred, despite Deadpool and Wolverine, the movie being an unsurprising success both critically and financially, but now at Pride Nite, let Wade Wilson meet guests.
Hopefully, to not repeat the same mistakes as the infamous wristband fiasco of “2025 90’s Nite”, that forced Scrooge McDuck & Launchpad McQuack from DuckTales, as well as the optional of Huey, Dewey, and Louie also from DuckTales and Darkwing Duck to be socially distanced from guests and roped off for the second night of the event due to the horrible wristband situation on the first night, which was highly unacceptable in a post COVID Environment and made millions upset, all because there weren’t enough characters out, and it was bad enough that Monterey Jack and Fat Cat from Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers were already socially distanced for no reason from night one.
There is a way to fix this, have as many characters out as possible, The Muses (they were absent last year, people want them back), Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Oaken, Tinker Bell and her friends from Pixie Hollow, Ashoka Tano, C3-PO, Mandalorian with Grogu, Mirabel, Bruno, Jack Sparrow, Angelica (from POTC: On Stranger Tides), Cruella de Vil, Snow White’s Evil Queen(the 1937 version), Maleficent, Queen of Hearts, Rapunzel, America Chavez, and Phastos should all appear (as well as Mickey and his pals, because they’re required to be there as they’re the ones who started it all), to keep the character lines not too lengthy and problematic, second…, less socially distanced character encounters(let the Oaken have a non distanced appearance and same with the Frozen II attire Anna and Elsa), and more ways to get up close for a photo, and then the newbies would get a ton of attention and no ropes or socially distant platforms that would make millions mention their horror stories on social media.
Let‘s get Disney to agree to bring their most iconic LGBTQ couple to Disneyland this summer, starting right now!
