Have Long Hill Township have a Menorah and Christmas Tree lighting this year.

The Issue

I believe that Long Hill Township needs to have a Menorah and Christmas Tree Lighting, because Christmas and Hanukkah are both important holidays in December as well as the Religion of Islam. Meyersville has a Christmas Tree Lighting every year in December. But it's organized by a private group. The Township does not hold any religious/holiday township-sponsored events. Clearly Long Hill Township doesn't want to have a December Ceremony. I know there's a Jewish Community in Long Hill Township, who go to local Synagogues in the state of New Jersey and in Morris County. Today there are still hate crimes and violence against Muslims, Jews, Mosques and Synagogues and other places of worship, races and religions, People who are Black and now Asian Americans. These hate crimes are intolerant and unacceptable for the United States. It would be great for a Christmas Tree and Menorah ceremony in Long Hill Township, to bring people together and to have Hanukkah and Christmas parties. Because both these holidays are important. Plus the light of the Menorah symbolizes an eternal flame. It has been said that the Menorah is a symbol of the nation of Israel and its mission to be “a light unto the nations” (Isaiah 42:6). The Menorah is among the most widely produced articles of Jewish Ceremonial art. The importance of Christmas Tree lightings is not only to celebrate birth of Jesus, But the lights on your Christmas tree may represent the light of God's spirit, the importance of enlightenment or knowledge, or the warmth of family love. Some modern Christians believe that the red ornaments or decorations on a Christmas tree are symbolic of Christ's blood or sacrifice. Local towns such as Basking Ridge, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Summit, Warren have both Christmas Tree and Menorah Lightings because they see the importance of both holidays. And how those 2 holidays bring people together in a community. This isn’t only Christmas and Hanukkah, but other holidays and events like Easter Egg Hunts, 4th of July Fireworks and more.
