This petition stems from a very personal place. My daughter is a wrestler in New York, and her journey through the sport has illuminated a stark issue: the dearth of female representation in NY USA wrestling. As it stands, womens wrestling has grown exponentially in the past couple years. This should not merely apply to athlete representation but permeate the arena of administrators, and officials of NY USAW.

More work needs to be done to render the sport of wrestling more inclusive and open for young women. It's high time for significant progress; it's high time for USAW in NY to reflect the equal strength and ability of women at the top in official positions.

We plead with NY USA Wrestling to start promoting female representation at all levels. Concrete steps could include establishing a female as the Women's Director.

It is for our daughters, for their strong spirit, and a fair future in sports... Please sign this petition and help pave the way for equal representation in NY USA wrestling.

With NYSPHSAA transitioning to Freestyle this season, NY-USA Wrestling needs to prioritize holding elections for leadership positions rather than appointing individuals without nominations. Transparency and open communication are vital, including clearly outlining opportunities for ALL girls wrestling across New York, from youth programs to HS, Fargo & NYS Girls Dual Teams & World Team Trials.
