As part of their "Marvel Legends: Retro Spider-Man" toyline, Hasbro released a new figure of the Hobgoblin in 2021 that was based on "Spider-Man: The Animated Series".  However, the Retro Hobgoblin figure released from Hasbro left fans of the character disappointed, as comic book fans wanted a new comic book based figure of the character and fans of the "Spider-Man" animated series, due to the figure's incorrect head sculpt and cape and the new re-sculpted feet that don't fit and stay on the Goblin Glider accessory, in which the Glider itself is also inaccurately sculpted in shape compared to the animated series.

We, the fans, would like to see Hasbro make a new "Marvel Legends: Spider-Man" action figure of the Hobgoblin in his classic comic book costume, based on the art of comic book artist and Hobgoblin co-creator John Romita Jr., with brand new accessories included, such as alternate civilian heads like Ned Leeds, Jason Macendale and/or Roderick Kingsley, a new comic accurate Goblin Glider, a flight stand for the Glider, and at least two pumpkin bomb accessories and two razor bat accessories.  Fans would love to see the next Hobgoblin figure sold separately, most likely as a Deluxe release due to the new accessories needed.

Hasbro could release a new figure for the Hobgoblin for either their "Marvel Legends: Retro Spider-Man" toyline or for the "Marvel Legends Series Secret Wars" toyline, since the Hobgoblin was released as a figure for Mattel's "Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars" toyline from the 1980s.
