Give Gurgaon-The Golden City & The Pride of Haryana-What it Deserves

The Issue

The Millennium City, IT Hub, BPO Capital, City of Malls are some of the names with which the city of Gurgaon usually gets associated with. From being a more than 40% contributor to the Haryana State treasury to being touted as the next city for boosting Medical Tourism in India to being a city oozing with talented professionals in virtually every sphere; Gurgaon is a envy of most young cities of India.
Alas, the government understood this.
Today Gurgaon is in a state which completely defies all logical reasoning. This city which is in a way represents “The goose which lays golden eggs" for the country is in a state of shambles. Rated as of the top 5 rich cities of India, Gurgaon, today, is begging for attention. The city with so much going in its favour has been provided with the worst of infrastructure - tattered roads, broken to non existing pavements, absence of zebra crossings, broken curb stones, pigs & other strays infested localities, the list is just endless. Public transport has been started recently but there are no bus shelters. How do we expect people to start using public transport when bus shelters do not exist. City's skyline has been converted into a quagmire of nothing but electric cables - the cables too have been put in the most absurd manner, being hanged on polls. Landscaping and beautification perhaps are too alien for the town planners. Garbage and muck is strewn all over the city. Except for a few one-off cleanliness drives the city is never cleaned. All talk about acquiring costly road cleaning machines etcetera goes in thin air and are nonsense. There are hardly any garbage collection bins within the city. The city which provides millions with an opportunity to earn lakhs actually represents a war zone.
Besides being the city which pioneered IT revolution in the North, Gurgaon is also a major industrial hub housing hundreds of units from the automobile and garments sector. Still power supply is in pitiable state in the city. Sooner or later it may become a factor prompting industries to stay from Gurgaon.
Why is Gurgaon being ignored? What's stopping the government and officials in caring & nurturing the city which is today the face of Haryana?
We want the Central as well the State Government to "Give Gurgaon Its Rightful Place - Give it What it Deserves". And we all the citizens of Delhi & Gurgaon know that Gurgaon deserves the best.
