THE ISSUE:

4 precious lives are lost on our roads each day in Australia. 
With countless others seriously injured as a result of road crashes.

These crashes in the majority of the result of a road crime. A vehicle is a loaded weapon yet we failed to acknowledge that fact.

If four lives were lost daily in Australia from the use of a loaded weapon, there would be community outrage, yet there seems to be an acceptance that these tragedies are part of life.

Offenders of catastrophic crashes, walk free or receive diluted sentences.
The punishment does not fit the crime.

Hannahs Blue Butterflies Road Safety Awareness Inc, call upon the Australian Federal government, to make urgent changes to the laws across Australia regarding road crime.
We urgently seek that these laws are implemented across each state and territory within Australia.

We formally request the following:
-Vehicular murder.
-Vehicular manslaughter.
-Vehicular serious Injury.
-Hit and run crashes. 
-Hooning and losing traction on a public road. 
-Stealing vehicles and car jacking.

These laws would apply to Repeat offenders and those undertaking serious criminal road crime, to receive a long custodial sentence and lifetime license ban.

Repeat offenders to be dealt with harshly:
Those who continue to break the law need to receive a custodial sentence and lifetime license ban. 
-Speeding.
-driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-Using a mobile phone or distraction behind the wheel.
-Driving unlicensed.
-Driving unregistered.
-Instigating a police chase.
The current laws are no deterrent to these criminals.

This is a call to action by us the Australian people who need these laws changed to keep every single road user safe on the Roads.
