Harrods - Establish Prayer Rooms for Men and Women

The Issue

We are a group of loyal customers who have been shopping at Harrods for years. Recently, we've found ourselves shifting our patronage to Selfridges due to the availability of a prayer room. This is not just about convenience, but about respect and inclusion.

Harrods being owned by a Qatari owned company and having large arab Muslim clientele it is strange why this hasn’t already been established. As shoppers we see Harrods has a large amount of dead space and unused areas, a very small empty space for a prayer room for men and women would not cost anything.

We believe that having access to a prayer room in Harrods will enhance our shopping experience by allowing us to fulfill our religious obligations without leaving the premises. This simple act can make a huge difference in making all customers feel valued and respected.

Harrods, as one of the world's most famous department stores, attracts customers from diverse backgrounds and faiths. It is estimated that around 48% of London's population identifies as religious with a significant proportion being Muslims who observe daily prayers (Source: Office for National Statistics). Providing prayer rooms would not only cater to this substantial demographic but also demonstrate Harrods' commitment to inclusivity.

We urge Harrods management team to consider establishing separate prayer rooms for men and women within their store premises. Please sign this petition if you support this cause.
