Hello Handsworth Track and ATF supporters,
Some good news as the holiday break approaches: The Handsworth ATF remains a priority and will be constructed in the new year.
In advocating for the track we have connected with a number of stakeholders: Elementary School PACs, Handsworth PAC, High School Principles (3), SD44 School Board Trustees, SD44 Superintendent and Vice Superintendent, DNV City Councillors, DNV Handsworth Project Manager and Mayor Little!
We have looked at the property, and it appears a standard 5-lane track will fit in the available space (if we select 40" lane width, 6 lanes may be accommodated). We are waiting to receive confirmation from the DNV and its design consultants.
A rubberized, competition-sized track would be a fabulous holiday gift for our community!
