Dear Supporters of Preserving the Gresham Building:
Your URGENT ACTION is needed to save the Gresham Building - an architectural and historical icon central in location and spirit to Chastain Park itself.
As you recall, Galloway School seeks to establish a Special Public Interest District (SPI-26) solely for its own property to receive an exemption from existing residential zoning regulations. SPIs are special zoning “carve-outs” from zoning regulations meant to promote and protect the well-being and goals of neighborhoods, NOT to serve the desires of individual property owners.
The 110 year old Gresham Building is, of course, an essential element that defines the character of Chastain Park and the surrounding neighborhood. Its demolition would be in direct opposition to the Public Interest.
We urge you to help in these critical ways:
Attend (vote if you are a resident) the NPU-A meeting Tuesday, August 6th, 7pm
Atlanta Speech School, 3160 Northside Pkwy NW, Atlanta, GA 30327
Attend the Zoning Review Board meeting on Thursday, August 8th, 6pm
Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave SW, Atlanta, GA. 30303
Can't attend? Contact us to send an email to city officials.
