The reproductive narrative in today's society has become lopsided. Men have lost control over their reproductive rights since the advent of sperm banks. I feel this because the respect once accorded us has been stripped away. No longer do we have a say in decisions about our seed and who bears our offspring. Instead, these decisions are now made by institutions and governments. This trend has led to a global imbalance that needs to be rectified.

Sperm banks, originally created for noble purposes such as aiding couples with infertility issues or preserving fertility in the face of medical challenges, have inadvertently shifted the control of reproductive decisions largely into institutional hands. It's a chilling fact that, based on a study by Human Reproduction Update in 2019, while using donor sperm, the wishes of the recipient–usually women–almost solely steer the selection process, effectively sidelining men from these critical decisions.

This current dynamic strips us of our natural rights and roles in reproduction, and leaves many men, myself included, feeling disrespected and powerless. We demand an immediate halt to the operations of all sperm banks until such a time that a more balanced and respectful solution can be found.
