Dear Petition Supporters,

Thank you all for your incredible support in standing up to the proposed 460-acre Lake Oconee Estates & Beach Club development. We’ve made significant progress—together, we've gathered over 280 signatures from concerned residents and community members like you. However, the battle is far from over, and we need to keep the momentum going!

What’s Happening Next: The Greene County Board of Commissioners (BOC) will be holding a crucial meeting on April 8th at 5:00 PM, where the rezoning and development plans will be discussed. We must show up in full force to make our voices heard and demonstrate the overwhelming opposition to this project. The meeting will take place at the Greene County Administration Building, located at 1034 Silver Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 (unless otherwise posted).

How You Can Help:

Come to the Meeting: We need as many people as possible at the BOC meeting to show the commissioners that we are united in opposition to this development. Let’s fill those seats! Your presence can make a real difference.

Spread the Word: Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to join us. The more people we have standing together, the more powerful our message will be.

Email Your Commissioners: If you can’t make it to the meeting, or even if you can, please email your thoughts and concerns directly to the Board of Commissioners. Let them know how strongly you feel about protecting the rural beauty of our community and why this development must be stopped.

Commissioner Contact Information:

  • Jeffery L. Smith - District 2: jlsmith@greenecountyga.gov
  • Dee Lindsey - District 3: dlindsey@greenecountyga.gov
  • Mark Blanton - District 4: mblanton@greenecountyga.gov

We have come so far, and we are making an impact, but we need to keep pushing forward. This is our chance to protect the peaceful, rural environment that we all cherish, and together, we can preserve the integrity of our community for generations to come. This development doesn’t just affect one district—it will have lasting consequences for all of Greene County. Increased traffic, strained infrastructure, environmental destruction, and the loss of our rural character will impact every resident, regardless of where they live. If we allow large-scale developments like this to take root, it will set a dangerous precedent for uncontrolled growth across the county.

Thank you again for your support—let’s keep fighting for what matters!

Date: April 8th, 2025
Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Greene County Administration Building, 1034 Silver Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 (Unless otherwise noted)

Let’s make our voices heard!

Warm regards,
Alli Puglisi
