My family home, like many others in Wainui, New Zealand, is on the brink of becoming an unsafe place. Our thin, unsealed road without pavements is frequented by two trailer trucks traveling at almost 100km/h. Young people are being advised to stay off their own road by their parents due to safety concerns. Even horses can't use the road due to inconsiderate truck drivers and the significant risk posed by rocks being flicked up.

This issue stems from Kings Quarry's fast track consent process which has not been completed as required. The community has not been adequately informed about this project and its potential impacts on our livestock, families and schools.

The dust pollution caused by these trucks creates an unhealthy and unsafe environment for our local livestock too. This is more than just a personal issue; it's about the safety of our community and preserving the quality of life we have come to love in Wainui.

We urge authorities to halt fast track consent for Kings Quarry until all required consents are completed and full information disclosure is made available to everyone affected. We deserve transparency about projects that will impact us directly or indirectly.
