Still such lies in this report!!. All to keep him from getting extra charges. Please continue to put pressure on Florida State Attorney General to handle this. BCSO is blaming the Judge but I think the police report is affecting the Judge's decision. We need someone higher now. The police report revised is still a joke. I think it's the third rewrite by Detective Rozier, who which btw, would not search Jacob's vehicle after I pointed out the blue boxers shorts in the front seat (the color of the ones he covered Hali's face with). He assured me they had ALL the boxers shorts from his apartment. He said that the boxers in Jacob's car has nothing to do with this case. You tell me, who's to blame because I know first hand what's going on here. I just need people behind me and trusting our word. Thank you for your support. P.S. I find it interesting the police don't tell us where Jacob is right now. Is he in jail or or out of jail? This is serious stuff! There was no profanity on the page, I was reading everything! Another BCSO cya. Here's their reply... On November 6, 2017, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office posted a press release about the arrest of Jacob Langston on Pinetree Avenue on Panama City Beach. Because of numerous comments about that particular release that contained profanity, it had to be taken down. In order to clear up any misconceptions about this case the original press release is being reposted with clarification. Press releases are issued to keep the community informed, but do not include all information contained in an active investigation. The suspect arrested, Jacob Langston, was charged with Burglary with a Battery, a first degree felony punishable by up to life in prison. The facts in this case did not meet the statutory elements for Attempted Sexual Battery, False Imprisonment, or Attempted Murder, which are second and third degree felonies. Langston was charged with the strongest and most appropriate charges in this case. It is a serious crime and we are treating it as such. The BCSO Victim Advocate has been working with the victim since the incident to ensure she is provided access to the appropriate services, and attended First Appearance on behalf of the victim. At First Appearance, the suspect was given a $40,000 bond. This was set by the judge in this case. The BCSO has no control over the bond or conditions of release that the judge sets. Investigators are working with the State Attorney’s Office in this continuing investigation. Another similar incident that occurred on North Lagoon has been reviewed and it has been determined that the suspect in that case was not Jacob Langston. The original press release has been reposted below. Anyone with additional questions is encouraged to contact Ms. Ruth Corley, Public Affairs Specialist, at 747-4700, ext. 2171. ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE ON ARREST OF JACOB LANGSTON November 06, 2017 The Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Pinetree Avenue, Panama City Beach, on November 4, 2017, at about 4:00 am, in reference to a man entering a woman’s apartment while she slept and beating her. The victim told deputies she had been sleeping and awoke to find a man in her room. When she awoke he covered her face with a pair of men’s boxers and a knit cap, telling her not to scream or he would kill her. When the victim struggled, the man began to hit her on the face numerous times, causing abrasions, bruising and swelling on her face. During the struggle, the boxers and cap came off her face and the victim recognized the man as her neighbor, Jacob Langston. Langston, when the victim recognized him, became conciliatory, asking the victim if she needed help. The victim kept her calm, telling Langston he had to leave and walked out of her apartment with her phone and car keys. Langston followed and watched as she got into her car and drove away, calling 911. Deputies went to Langston’s home and took him into custody. Criminal Investigations was called to the scene and interviewed Langston. Afterward he was arrested. Investigators believe that Langston had walked past the victim’s apartment earlier in the evening, seeing her through a window. He then went to his apartment, put on a pair of boxers and a knit cap and entered her apartment through a window. He went into her room, took off the boxers and knit cap with the intention, he claimed, of talking with her. (CLARIFICATION: Langston was fully dressed when he entered the victim’s apartment and remained fully dressed during the incident. The boxers and cap were on his head.) Langston, age 26, also of Pinetree Avenue, Panama City Beach, was charged with Burglary with Assault or Battery. -30- Prepared by R. Corley Information by Inv. D. Rozier Approved by Chief J. Heape
