As someone deeply affected by the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, I am compelled to fight for the rights and freedoms that are being stripped away from us. The United States Supreme Court's decision has opened the floodgates for Republican politicians to push for a nationwide abortion ban in the form of an Amendment to the U.S Constitution. This proposed amendment does not even consider exceptions in cases of rape or incest, which is utterly appalling.

The fact that these politicians can propose an Amendment outlawing abortion but fail to implement common sense gun control laws is nothing short of pathetic. It is a stark reminder that our voices need to be louder and our actions more decisive.

According to Guttmacher Institute, nearly one in four women in America will have an abortion by age 45 (Jones & Jerman, 2017). This statistic alone highlights how crucial it is for this procedure to remain safe, legal and accessible.
