Guadalupe Bass - Protection Laws

The Issue

The state of Texas has been blessed with an amazing breed of Bass. Our very own Guadalupe Bass. Currently there are no laws protecting it from the ever possible extinction. This is our State Fish. I am not sure why there are no laws made for this breed of fish. I am here to get the word out that there should be. I will go ahead and shoot for stars by asking for a Catch and Release law, I do however understand the importance of harvesting fish and what would happen it we didn't. The outcome wanted from this is at the least people read this and think about it. I'd love to see a size limit set for keeping this beautiful fish, some sort of slot limit, some sort of tag (like a coastal Redfish) and or even an allotted amount per year per person. The Guadalupe Bass has become a bucket list fish for many anglers outside of Texas. The fish draws in tourism, if we keep going the way the laws are written now we could possibly not have this beautiful creature that represents our beloved state. Thank you everyone for your time.
